What is a BulkBar?

A BulkBar is a self-serve, zero-waste healthy snack bar designed for companies.

It takes the form of a dispenser installed in the workplace, offering a selection of organic dried fruit, nuts and cereals, all package-free.

The BulkBar works without electricity and requires no internal management from the company.

How does a BulkBar work in an office?

The BulkBar is installed directly in the office and made freely available to employees on a self-serve basis.

Employees simply help themselves, while the BulkBar team takes care of installation, refills and logistics.

This means the company has no operational workload linked to running the service.

Does the BulkBar work like a traditional vending machine?

No. The BulkBar does not work with coins, cards or electricity.

It is a self-serve snack bar, designed to be freely offered to the whole team, rather than a pay-per-item vending machine.

This approach encourages simplicity, ease of use and a friendly workplace atmosphere.

Does the BulkBar require electricity or a specific connection?

No. The BulkBar works without electricity or any technical connection.

It can be installed in most office environments with no technical constraints, which makes it easy to integrate, even in shared or flexible workspaces.

What types of products are available in a BulkBar?

The BulkBar menu includes more than 30 organic, package-free snack options, selected for everyday workplace use.

This includes different types of nuts (such as cashews, hazelnuts, almonds and Brazil nuts), nut and dried-fruit mixes, granolas, and savory nut mixes.

All products are certified organic and come from responsible supply chains.

To ensure ethical sourcing, the suppliers BulkBar works with follow strict principles regarding ethics, working conditions and non-discrimination.

Local producers are also audited on-site to verify compliance with these criteria, both in terms of product quality and fair-trade practices.

For what size of companies is a BulkBar suitable?

A BulkBar is generally suitable for companies with 35 to 500 employees, depending on how many people are present in the office and how the workspace is organised.

From around 200 people upwards, it often makes sense to install more than one BulkBar, for example when offices are spread across several floors. However, this is not a strict rule.

For organisations with fewer than 35 employees, more compact formats such as the BulkBottles, are often better suited to offering self-serve, zero-waste healthy snacks without a fixed installation.

Is a BulkBar more expensive than a traditional vending machine?

A BulkBar and a traditional vending machine are not directly comparable, because they are based on very different models.

With a vending machine, snacks are usually paid for by employees, even if the company covers part of the cost of the machine.

With a BulkBar, snacks are paid for by the employer and made available to the whole team as a shared workplace benefit, similar to coffee or fresh fruit.

It is therefore an investment in employee well-being, which can support productivity and help reduce absenteeism, while also having a positive sustainability impact thanks to a zero-waste, package-free approach.

Who takes care of refills and logistics?

All logistics are handled by the BulkBar team.

This includes product delivery, refilling the snack bar, maintenance and upkeep.

The company’s internal teams do not have anything to manage on a daily basis.

Does a BulkBar really generate less waste?

Yes. A self-serve, package-free snack bar significantly reduces packaging waste compared with individually wrapped snacks.

With this model, the reduction in plastic waste is direct and immediately visible.

How long does it take to install a BulkBar?

In most cases, you should allow around one week between confirmation and installation of the BulkBar at the company’s premises.

Installation is simple and fast, with no building work or technical requirements.

Is there a minimum contract period or long-term commitment?

The BulkBar has been designed as a flexible, low-risk solution for companies.

There is no minimum contract duration.

Only a one-month notice period applies in the event of cancellation.

This flexibility allows companies to test the solution in real conditions, without a heavy investment or long-term obligation.

BULKBOTTLES – HEALTHY SNACKS IN REUSABLE CONTAINERS

What are the BulkBottles?

The BulkBottles are an alternative to self-serve, package-free snacking.

Snacks are offered in reusable glass containers, delivered ready to use directly to the office.

This makes it possible to offer healthy snacks while significantly reducing waste.

The BulkBottles subscription can be changed, paused or cancelled at any time by the client.

There is no minimum contract duration.

What is the difference between the BulkBar and the BulkBottles?

The BulkBar is a fixed, self-serve snack bar, while the BulkBottles use individual reusable containers.

The BulkBottles are particularly suitable for companies with fewer than 35 employees or for workplaces with limited space.

This alternative allows companies to offer healthy, zero-waste snacks without a fixed installation, providing flexibility and modularity.

How does the BulkBottles logistics model work?

The BulkBottles are delivered in reusable containers, with logistics designed to be simple and seamless.

At each delivery, the empty containers from the previous month are collected, based on a circular system similar to the old-fashioned milk delivery model.

Once collected, the empty containers are professionally cleaned by a specialised company, ensuring full hygiene compliance.

Deliveries generally take place once a month.

There are several plans available, depending on the size of the company.

Subscriptions start from one crate per month, suitable for workplaces of around 10 people, and can be scaled to two, three or four crates as needed.

A deposit is charged at the start of the collaboration and is refunded at the end of the contract, provided no breakage is recorded.

HEALTHY DRINKS

Does BulkBar also offer healthy drinks for offices?

Yes. In addition to its self-serve snack offering, BulkBar also provides a selection of healthy drinks for companies.

This includes both hot and cold drinks, with particular attention paid to the sustainability commitments of the producers.

The goal is to offer a drinks range that is fully consistent with the overall responsible approach.

These drinks are available to clients of BulkBar or BulkBottles via a dedicated webshop.

What types of drinks are available?

BulkBar offers a selection of healthy, organic drinks designed for everyday use in the workplace.

The range includes tea (Kusmi Tea), coffee (Torrefactory), artisan soft drinks (Drink a Flower) and kefir (Kult).

These drinks are chosen for the quality of their ingredients, their balanced nutritional profile, and their alignment with a responsible consumption approach at work.

Can drinks be ordered without being a BulkBar or BulkBottles client?

For the moment, the healthy drinks offering is reserved for companies that are clients for the BulkBar or the BulkBottles.

This fits within a one-stop-shop approach, allowing companies to centralise both healthy snacking and responsible drinks with a single partner.

This model ensures consistency of the overall offer, both in terms of logistics and quality and sustainability commitments.

BILLING & TAX

What are the billing terms?

Invoices are issued once per month, detailing the food products delivered during said month. Standard payment terms are 10 business days. We can also set up a direct debit mandate on request.

Are the costs for the BulkBar and BulkBottles tax deductible?

Yes. The Belgian Federal Public Service for Finance has confirmed that expenses incurred by employers for services like BulkBar are fully deductible as professional expenses. This applies to companies based in Belgium.
